Sumaya Karimi has been an invaluable asset to the CDF team for over four years and has recently decided to moved on to her next adventure. During her time at CDF, Sumaya focused on several areas including restorative discipline and justice, anti-bullying work in schools, family outreach and public safety. Years ago, she was asked what values she considers to be most important in her approach to her work, and Sumaya named the following tenets:
· Listen to strong feelings of the community and be there to support when needed
· Do not impose my personal agenda
· Be with community members, play with them and build relationships
· Be aware of our power and be sure we have not imposed our agenda on community
With these values, Sumaya contributed to CDF as an organization, the people with whom she worked, and the Clarkston community. Thank you, Sumaya, for your years of service and the listening ear you lent the Clarkston community. Best wishes!
