The Friends of the Clarkston Library are hosting a Spring Book Sale on May 10 – 11, 2013 in conjunction with “Tell Me a Story” literacy festival (a project of the Clarkston Early Learning Network) at the Clarkston Community Center. The revenue generated from this sale will sponsor cultural and literacy programs, as well as purchase much needed books which will be greatly appreciation by the staff and community.
When: Friday, May 10 – 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday, May 11 – 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

Sale items include both hardbound and paperback books for children, young adults and adults, videos, DVDs and CDs. Please note that payment is by cash or local check only (no credit or debit cards and no ATM on site).
Books – $1 for hardback, 50 cents for paperbacks (most children’s picture books 50 cents)
Books can also be purchased by the bag – $8 & under depending upon bag size – beginning at 12:00 pm (noon) on Saturday.
The Clarkston Early Learning Network, a coalition of groups and individuals, invites families to a free “Tell Me a Story” celebration at the Clarkston Community Center – May 11th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The event will feature story telling from many countries, book donations, book making, playing and learning activities for pre-school children, and other activities to promote the importance of reading, telling stories, and singing to children at a young age. Families will be invited to tour the Library which is adjacent to the Clarkston Community Center and to sign up for library cards and visit the Book Sale.
