Dear Partners, Supporters and Friends,
Resource and funding changes have led us to reconsider CDF Action’s vision for our role in the Clarkston Community. So, after thoughtful consultation with Clarkston residents, partners and members of our staff, we have decided to “Hit the Re-Start Button.”
As we move ahead, our primary focus will be on Education. In partnership with other organizations in Clarkston and beyond, our educational initiatives have already made a difference in the lives of Clarkston families. One of our immediate goals is to work to rebrand CDF Action to appropriately reflect this educational focus.
In support of this narrowed scope of our work, our staff has worked diligently to transfer non-educational programs to other organizations that will continue the successful work that CDF Action began in these areas. Transitional efforts include plans to make a grant to the Start:ME loan fund to support the continuation of the Clarkston micro-entrepreneur accelerator program in 2016. In addition, we made a grant to 50CentsPeriod to encourage the continuation of the community health programs.
In appreciation for their thoughtful and intelligent work for CDF Action, we have provided departing staff members severance packages to support them in their transitions.
While making difficult decisions during this transitional process, we focused on staying true to our beliefs and commitments to three constituencies, in this order: the community we serve, our staff, and the CDF Action organization.
We thank YOU for your personal contributions to our work and for the partnerships, collaborations, and passion that you have brought to every one of our endeavors.
And, the work is NOT over. So, we look forward to new conversations about how we can continue to serve the community together. We look forward to your comments and feedback. Please look for our updates on all we have to share as we Hit the Re-Start Button for the reformulated CDF Action organization.
Stay tuned for more details!
