We invite you and your organization to support the year’s festival in a meaningful way by becoming a Festival Sponsor or a Friend of the Festival. Sponsors contributing between $300 to $999 will enjoy the visibility of having their organizational name and logo featured prominently in promotional materials, and appearing in the event program.
With your generous support, we can continue to make a profound impact on the literacy and creativity of our community’s children. The festival supports equity in early childhood education by offering free books and resources, literacy partnerships, and information about early learning and childhood education programs. Additionally, it provides language guides in over 10 different languages to assist refugee and immigrant families in meeting their educational needs. The children’s storytelling program and activities empower young minds to explore and cultivate a love for reading, fostering essential skills that enable our children to thrive in an ever-changing world.
The Clarkston Tell Me a Story! Festival History
The festival grew out of the work of CDF Action, Inc., founded in 2010, to connect and engage the diverse residents of Clarkston to create activities and inform policies that benefit the community. Increasing the quality and access to culturally competent early care and learning was an important focus of the work.
The first Festival was funded by a W.K. Kellogg Foundation grant to CDF Action and the National Brimstone Applied Oral Storytelling Fund, awarded to Kuumba Storytellers of Georgia.
Fast forward a decade, the Festival is now celebrating its triumphant 10 year anniversary with the partnership and support of the City of Clarkston and the City’s Early Learning Task Force, facilitated by CDF Action.
