CDF Welcomes new Community Health Director

CDF is pleased to announce the addition of Lorrie King as our new Community Health Director.  Lorrie is a Clarkston resident who has worked all over the world on various health initiatives with the CDC and USAID, to name a few.  Lorrie is also the founder of 50cents.Period, a global non-profit that works to empower women and girls to stay fully engaged in their lives and educations without the stigma and barriers surrounding their period, gender, and reproductive choices.  With her extensive global experience, Lorrie is aware of  the complexity that culture and context present in the provision of health services.   Lorrie believes in health strategies and interventions that move beyond treating and/or curing, and focus on preventing and empowering.

In her role as Community Health Director, Lorrie will work with residents and service providers to work on health objectives in Clarkston that center on the social and societal determinants of health.
